- Tell us about your pup(s) and other pets?
- Proud Mum to 2 female APBT, Medic (1yr) and Cami Belle (3yrs), both adopted. My girls are nana's to my 4 yr old twins Dre and Matteo. Cami Belle was used as a "breeder", her pups sold for money. She went from being a very submissive, out of shape and unsure girl to a self assured, PLAYFUL little love bug who can now run laps around our large yard instead of getting out of breath after 10 steps. We sadly had to let our baby girl Maya (also a pit bull), whom we had for 10 yrs, pass on to the spirit world this summer. She had chronic joint problems that made life almost impossible to enjoy at the end, but she always had a kiss and a snuggle for me. Always a lover of water, we put in a pond with a water fall in our backyard in memory of her. We also have a cat, Miss Alice (11yrs) who fishes in that pond..lol, a rabbit, Rudy (2yrs) and 2 cocketiels George and Weezy. All adopted. My pit get along with ALL the animals, are very affectionate with Alice and Rudy, and keep a respectful distance from the birds when they are out of the cage, but still smile and watch them carefully. These are the best dogs...I got my first one when I was 3, Lucky. Lucky had been abandoned at the side of the road, and after much fussing about the furry thing I saw my Mom went back to check and found this straggly lil' brindle pit bull puppy. There began my lifelong love of the breed. My mother nursed it back to health, even tho' the vet suggested having it put down. Lucky became my best friend, you could often find me out of bed at night and curled up with her on the floor, something my own boys now do with ours! Our furry and feathered family members add so much to our lives, I only hope they feel as happy and loved as they make us feel.
