- Are you involved in Animal Rescue, if so please tell us about your organization?
- I have adopted all of our pets from rescue sites (Humane Society, etc.) or rescued as a homeless stray. I donate regularly to animal related charities. I use to volunteer at an animal shelter in Broward County. I recently did free photo sessions for the Pinups for Pitbulls and Pinups for Pups calendars.
- Tell us about your pup(s) and other pets?
- All of our kitties have been adopted or rescued. My favorite baby of all time just recently passed was my kitty Remy, who only lived to be 6 due to lung problems. He was rescued by me when he was found living at a car dealership when born. I did not want him to get runover by all the busy car traffic. He was an adorable, gimpy bobtail. He had worms in his belly, a messed up eye, and very dehydrated. I took him, got him checked out, and loved him back to health. He grew to be a big most lovable guy anyone ever knew. He knew how to play fetch, walk on a leash and slept next to me every night. He was my best friend. We also have Gir who a neighbor 'owned' but left her outside and never fed. She was so tiny and scrawny and looked like her tail had been bit off by another animal. So my husband decided to take her in. She now eats like a pig. Our 3rd cat is Reeses Pieces who was living at an animal shelter and was on death row. One of the volunteers there was trying to save her and was taking her around my husbands work place. Being a softie and not wanting her to die, decided to take her. She's a beautiful tortoise calico. Then we found Bailey, another bobtail cat who lived outside near a very busy street. He was just so cute and needed love. And our most recent cat is Riley, who was up for adopted at the Humane Society. Missing Remy and wanting a new buddy, I saw Riley, an orange stripped manx cat. Actually I was looking for a dog, but when I saw Riley had no tail, I picked him up, started crying because he reminded me of Remy, and Riley started licking my tears away. So home we took him. Now I finally think it's time my husband and I got our family a dog. So that's what we're looking to adopted now. Not sure what yet, but we'll find one that needs love. We also have random fish and turtles. I love animals of all sorts!
